one of the topical issues for this mailing list, would be regional peering.  
there's a SADC (ie. this region) telecoms and IXP operators meeting in gaborone next week (feb 3 onwards).
if you're running cross-border networks (or want to), or you're an IX operator in this region, you should have gotten an invite to this.
otherwise, please drop a note here, and we'll see what we can do to get you there.
