Hi Team,
Just as an update, we had a meeting as TISPA local organizing committee and below are the pointers from the discussion.
TISPA Local Organizing Committee Meeting
Location: TISPA Offices

Time: 1400 - 16:00 Hrs
Agenda Items:
1. Social Event
2. Delegates Participation
3. Media coverage
4. Event logistics
5. Local-host guest of Guest of Honor

Outcome of the deliberation:
1. Social events
Different stakeholders in the industry have been approached by TISPA for sponsorship but until now, none has committed to sponsor the social event whose cost is around 10,000USD.
We have then agreed to focus our energies on approaching at least some Telecoms and Bank with Joseph taking the lead to follow up on (Vodacom and Tigo ) and Noah to follow up on (NMB Bank, Airtel and Sportspesa ).
Once the sponsorship is locked down, we shall then decide on the venue but we need a backup plan in place just in case.
* Venue for Social (preferably Sea-cliff hotel or Golden Tulip )
2. Delegates Participation
On the issue of getting more people to register for the event locally, we agreed that we should consider the below options
* To request SAFNOG OC to allow the 30 TISPA members to send at-least only one person from their organisation as a TISPA member to attend for free. Any other person will have to pay.
* To allow at-least 30 tzNOG students to attend for free since they will not be able to afford paying for both training and conference
* tzNOG to pay for the tzNOG secretariat members participation
* TISPA to pay for the regional IX managers participation
3. Media coverage
We agreed that we consider running some adverts in the major news papers and blogs for a wider advertising of the event next week
* Guardian
* Daily News
* Wanainchi
* Millard blog
* MoDeji blog
We also agreed that we also consider holding a press conference next week latest
* We will prepare some soft/hard copy content as discussion points during the press briefing which will include members from (TCRA, TISPA and tzNOG)
* We need information on the content that will be discussed during the conference to attract industry attention.
4. Event logistics
In terms of logistics, we noted that;
* Registration will be done by (SAFNOG Molly, Jessica, Portia + ISOC Tanzania chapter volunteers)
* Internet Connectivity will be done by SEACOM + Simbanet + CTV
* Transport to social event will be organized by TISPA based on sponsorhip package
5. Local-host guest of Guest of Honour
We also agreed that we invite;
* The Minister of ICT as Guest of Honor for the opening of the conference
* The Director General of the TCRA for the closing of the event.
6. AoB
There was no any other business but we are happy to here some feedback on the above for the OC in general.
