Yes, Mzee Boma is on the list, since the beginning.
Perhaps the e-mails are going to his Junk mail...

Hi Mark
If I may, is Mzee Boma on the safnog-oc list? He seems to be missing all the dialogs

Thanks, John.
So I'm working on the CfP (Call for Paper), a draft of which I'll share tonight. Once we all agree on the general topics to work on, we can start pushing it out immediately.
After that, we can begin building the base program agenda skeleton. But in general, I'm looking at the below:
* Main plenary for 30-minute conference presentations.
* Break-out room for 30-minute conferences presentation.
* Break-out room for 90-minute conference tutorials/workshops.
* Break-out room for 180-minute conference tutorials/workshops.
Note that the break-out rooms are not dedicated to holding general or tutorial talks. We can use the rooms depending on the content and space available.
I've asked Noah to reserve 1x plenary hall + 2x break-out rooms.
It's great to hear that Techminds and Cisco are keen to share a tutorial.
Will update the group shortly. Thanks.
Mark.

Hey Mark
For the actual tracks to train, when do we decide on those? Cisco specifically Meraki is looking to have a session probably an afternoon sponsored by Techminds.

Hi Mark,
The update has been noted. Please confirm if the workshop sessions will still be at the Bank of Tanzania Building or if they will be held at the Serena as well?

Portia

Thanks, Noah. Great news!
Let's lock the dates in right away! I'm guessing getting SEACOM fibre into there for the week won't be a problem.
Portia, please update the web site to indicate the conference will now be held at the Serena.
Noah, we are going to need at least 2, maximum 3 conference rooms at the Serena. One for the main plenary, and the other 2 for breakout sessions. Please work with as we book the hotel resources. Thanks.
Mark.

Thanks, Noah.
Team, we need to communicate quickly on action points so that we do not lose precious windows.
Noah, suggest we go ahead and lock the Serena in immediately, and confirm with them via a deposit.
Let's maintain the dates. Thanks.
Mark.

Hello Team,
Just to update that we the Hyatt came back to us indicating that the first 2 days are already booked.
They however have the 26th – 28th available as the best alternative dates?
We also checked with Serena Hotel and they confirmed availability and we have gone ahead to make bookings. We will also meet Serena this coming Monday.
We need to make decision quick and lock the bookings.
Cheers,
Noah Maina

Yes, the announcement has started going out. You would have seen it on the main SAFNOG list.
All, please start pushing this out to your (local/regional/global) networks and lists, and your social media profiles.
Let's get the word out there. The hard work begins now.

i saw my name somewhere else and i’m not sure why but i’m sure it will all work out
my worry about a 3d plenary is that we have enough problems getting enough speakers for 2d. but if this is not a concern then ok; i’m not really hard set into anything specific.
Not really worried about that this year, as EANOG and TISPA are on-board and will help drive the agenda.
It could be more difficult with just SAFNOG, but if we are successful at it this year, which I believe we will be, it will be easier to solidify going forward.
